Discovery VR make quality non-fiction covering a wide range of subjects from lifestyle to science. The logo needed to reflect this and move away from the overly futuristic science fiction stereotypes typically associated with virtual reality.
The VR set in superscript makes reference to both science, which is at the core of the Discovery brand and also the spatial aspect of virtual reality. As well as this, it shifts the emphasis back to Discovery and also allows the logo to be easily adapted to future platforms such as Discovery AR or Discovery 360.
